Mandukya Upanishad & Karika Shankara Bhashyam Class 24
This series of classes on the Shankara’s Bhashya (Adi Shankaracharya’s Commentary) on the Mandukya Upanishad with the Karika of Gaudapada is conducted by Swami Tattwamayananda, a senior monk of the Ramakrishna Order of India who is currently the Minister-in-Charge of the Vedanta Society of Northern California, (a branch of the Ramakrishna Mission) a spiritual center which was founded by Swami Vivekananda in 1900 in San Francisco, USA.
This present series of classes is intended for all those who know Sanskrit well but who have not had a chance to study Shastras in the traditional way under a teacher conversant with the disciplines of Nyaya, Vedanta, Vyakarana, and Mimamsa.
It is actually an expanded version of the classes on the same topic that Swami Tattwamayananda gave in India during the period of 2008 – 2011 and later, at the Vedanta Society of Northern California, San Francisco, USA, from April 13, 2012, to December 20, 2013, in a series of 44 lectures that are accessible at sfvedanta.org/class-audio/mandukya-upanisad/.
