We will celebrate the birthday of  Sri Sarada Devi, the Holy Mother, New Year’s Day, and Kalpataru Day on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at 10 a.m. PST at the New Temple. The program will consist of a worship (puja), fire ceremony (homa), devotional music, a talk, flower offerings by devotees, and a prasad luncheon.

Swami Vimohananda, minister-in-charge of the Vivekananda Vedanta Society of British Columbia in Surrey, Canada, will be our special guest. He will speak on “The Spiritual Significance of Kalpataru Day.”Swami Vimohananda joined the Ramakrishna Order in 1988. He served at Advaita Ashrama, one of the publication departments of the Ramakrishna Order, for nearly 25 years, where he edited and translated a number of books.

He was appointed the first minister-in-charge of the Vedanta Society of British Columbia, and the Society was formally affiliated to the Ramakrishna Order with the arrival of the swami in Vancouver on December 13, 2019.

Other Bay Area swamis will also participate in the program. Child care will be provided during the program.
