"When I receive a letter from you, I get a picture of your mental state, and I answer it through inspiration, without much thought." In this way Swami Turiyananda, a disciple of Sri Ramakriashna and a knower of God, answered his letters. Apart from his personal experiences, these letters contain the quintessence of Vedantic scriptures, and the teachings of the mystics. Turiyananda's letters also shed light on the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda and include many personal reminiscences them. Swami Turiyananda did not write any books or articles. Once he said to a monk, "Whatever I have to give to the world, that I have given through my letters." This collection includes letters originally written in English and those written in Bengali. Translated and edited by Swami Chetanananda.
