This year the pilgrimage will be held on Saturday, April 28. Our special guest speaker will be Swami Nishpapananda of the Vedanta Society of St. Louis.
Swami Nishpapananda is a senior monk of the Ramakrishna Order, stationed at the Vedanta Society of St Louis. The swami first met Swami Satprakashananda in St. Louis in 1971 and resided with his guru in the monastery until his passing in 1979. Later he joined the Order and received final monastic vows in India in 1995. The swami gives talks at the Vedanta Societies of St. Louis and Kansas City and conducts retreats at other Vedanta centers in the US. Swami Nishpapananda is also active in interfaith work and speaks before classes at various colleges and universities in the St Louis area.
Swamis Prapannananda (Sacramento), Prasannatmananda (Berkeley), Ishadhyanananda (Sacramento), and Tattwamayananda (San Francisco) will also participate in the daylong program.
The subject for discussion will be: “Swami Vivekananda in America.” The program begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. The retreat is located in eastern Santa Clara County. If you would like further information and/or would like to attend, please let us know by using the “Contact Us” form. Please note: Do not take the Mt. Hamilton route (SR 130, Mt. Hamilton Road) since the road is blocked and you will have to turn around before you reach the Ashrama. We have been informed the road will be closed into May. Road closure detail.
All are welcome!
